This unfinished project is an early Land Rover Series II, with 2.25-litre petrol engine, is believed to be an ex-RAF “airfield lighting maintenance” vehicl. It was manufactured in 1958 but first registered for the road on 24th May 1963. The chassis number 141000058 suggests that this was the 58th petrol Series II to be built.We're told it was bought by the vendor’s uncle from a farmer who had been its second owner. The uncle gave it a partial restoration including a new bulkhead, leaf springs and outriggers. The tub is equipped with an electrical socket, and the sale includes the original power take-off (PTO) for running the airfield's lighting generator.The Land Rover comes with its current V5C and old-style V5s, plus a couple of old MoT certificates.
