Background: The Volkswagen Golf Clipper was a special edition of the final iterations of the Mk1 Golf Cabriolet, produced between 1988 and 1993. Sharing its 1.8-litre engine with the GTi models, the Clipper used a simpler carburettor setup resulting in 90bhp. Given its relatively light weight, the Clipper offered a lively and enjoyable driving experience, making it a fun option for open-top motoring enthusiasts Also notable for its body-coloured bumpers, flared wheel arches, and side skirts, collectively known as the 'Clipper kit'.
