This Rover is offered reluctantly for sale by a P5 Club member who has owned it for 16 years. It was built 22nd June 1959, line label 1113 for the Main Dealer, Henley Motors Piccadilly London NW1. DVLA awarded an age-related “UL” plate which was Piccadilly at that time. It is reckoned to be about the 5th oldest P5 surviving. Most of it's life was in the Mediterranean area such as Malta GC, Cyprus and Sardinia. It is historic by the DVLA and therefore at present exempt from road fund and MoT requirements. From it's repatriation on 12th September 2007, it has been tested annually except for during the pandemic and advisories done. The odometer is believed correct with only 1,225 miles pa over 64 years and 13,765 miles during 16 years current ownership - less than 860 miles a year average. It is as original as possible with replacement parts for safety. The re-commissioning work includes: Subframe shot-blasted, cleaned dipped and painted before refitting. Undersealed. Polarity changed to negative (check radio). Girling servo replaced with Lockheed 7. Clutch and thrust bearing. Radiator re-cored and upgraded. Front disc calipers and pads. Front and rear shock absorbers. Cylinder head re-built. Differential replaced. Hardened valves. Electronic ignition. Fuel sender and electronic fuel pump. Bosch alternator. Hankook Radial correct size tyres 185R15. Rostyle wheels refurbished. Upgraded battery. Upholstery recovered prior to present ownership. Loose carpet. LED sidelights, brakes. Water pump.
