FOR SALE JF Classic Cars are pleased to offer an outstanding time-capsule example of the 2000 Rover Mini Cooper 1.3i, With low mileage from new, this remarkable Cooper presents in a condition that is rarely seen and even more rarely offered for sale. It perfectly encapsulates the final years of classic Mini production, capturing the charm, character and appeal that made the Cooper name legendary. Quite simply, this is a superb survivor that remains remarkably close to showroom condition, offering a unique opportunity to acquire a truly special example of British motoring history EXTERNAL Finished in the iconic British Racing Green (Paint Code: WEO), this 2000 Rover Mini Cooper presents exactly as a Cooper should...timeless, instantly recognisable and beautifully proportioned. The paintwork displays a deep, uniform gloss from front to rear, with a vibrant, lustrous finish that highlights the Mini’s crisp panel lines and unmistakable profile. Condition throughout is exceptional, with the exterior clearly benefiting from careful ownership and minimal use. The front elevation is defined by a full slatted chrome grille, gleaming and free from corrosion, complemented by a full wrap-around chrome front bumper that sits perfectly aligned and presents in superb order. All exterior chrome trim remains bright and untarnished, enhancing the car’s classic character. Clear front indicators and the original circular headlamps remain chip and damage free, while the factory-fitted Oban-mounted spotlights complete the authentic Cooper look. Running along each flank are the legendary white Cooper pin stripes, crisp and correctly positioned, adding contrast against the rich green paintwork. A Mini Cooper crest positioned correctly sits proudly on the rear wing, while the white bonnet decals bearing the John Cooper signature further underline the car’s heritage and authenticity. The contrasting cream-coloured roof provides a perfect visual balance, matched by cream colour-coded door mirrors, both of which remain fresh, bright and free from marking. Chrome door handles present beautifully, retaining their original finish without tarnish or pitting. Originality continues with factory glazing throughout, all clear and unmarked, alongside original rear light lenses that remain bright and free from fading or damage. To the rear, a wrap-around chrome bumper mirrors the quality of the front, while all badging front and rear remains original and correctly positioned, exactly as Rover intended. A final detail is the chrome petrol filler cap, adding a subtle yet period-correct flourish, along with a black-mounted roof aerial, neatly positioned and in excellent order. Overall, this Mini Cooper’s exterior is a superb showcase of originality, presentation and classic British style a beautifully preserved example that would sit comfortably in any serious collection INTERNAL The interior of this 2000 Rover Mini Cooper 1.3i is a beautifully preserved and highly evocative space, finished in the desirable Ash Cloth with Black Leather trim (Trim Code: SMM) and presented in very, very good overall condition. Opening the doors instantly transports you back to the late nineties and early noughties, capturing the unmistakable atmosphere of a period Rover showroom with remarkable authenticity. The front seats are upholstered in the correct ash cloth centres with supportive black leather bolsters, all of which remain exceptionally well preserved, showing no unsightly marking or wear. They are complemented by black headrests with beige piping, adding a subtle yet distinctive contrast. To the rear, the seats present as virtually unused, their condition suggesting they may well have seen little to no occupancy since new. All seat adjustment and folding mechanisms operate exactly as intended. The black interior carpeting remains immaculate throughout, protected from day one by the original Mini Cooper embossed overmats, which remain fitted and in excellent order. Front and rear black leather-effect door cards present in equally fine condition and are complete with front door pockets, wind-down window handles and door release levers, all functioning smoothly and correctly. Above, the beige headlining sits taut and mark-free, maintaining a fresh and original appearance. The focal point of the cabin is the walnut-effect dashboard, which remains unmarked and beautifully finished, its wood grain displayed elegantly and without fading or damage. To the passenger side sits a chrome directional heater vent alongside the push-button dash-mounted glovebox, while centrally positioned is the classic analogue time clock, reinforcing the Mini’s traditional charm. A period-correct Pioneer flip-off face CD head unit (DEM2920MP) is neatly installed, perfectly in keeping with the era. The driver’s binnacle houses three circular, cream-backed instruments with black numerals. To the left, the speedometer displays a remarkably low 27,228 miles from new; centrally sit the fuel and temperature gauges, with the tachometer positioned to the right. All cursory warning lights illuminate and extinguish exactly as per manufacturer specification. Further controls are thoughtfully arranged, with the headlamp adjuster switch positioned to the right of the binnacle alongside the driver’s chrome heater vent. Below the audio system, a row of push-button switches includes the rear fog lamp, brake system warning test, hazard switch and heated rear screen. A two-speed interior fan button and the directional air vent slider switch, both operating correctly. Finishing touches include a beige leather gear gaiter in excellent condition, paired with the correct beige and black gear knob, and a three-spoke black and beige steering wheel proudly displaying the Mini Cooper crest at its centre. To the rear, the snap-clasp rear windows function exactly as intended, completing an interior that feels cohesive, original and remarkably well preserved. Overall, this cabin is a standout feature of the car authentic, inviting and beautifully maintained reinforcing the impression that this Mini Cooper has been carefully cherished throughout its life ENGINE & TRANSMISSION Powering this 2000 Rover Mini Cooper is the well-proven 1.3-litre A-Series multi-point fuel-injected engine, a unit that represents the most refined and usable evolution of the classic Mini powerplant. Developed to meet late 1990s emissions requirements while retaining the character that defined the Mini for decades, the multi-point system delivers smoother throttle response, improved cold starting and enhanced drivability compared with earlier carburetted versions. Producing around 63 bhp, the 1.3 MPI engine offers lively performance in a car of the Mini’s compact dimensions and light weight. Power delivery is crisp and immediate, with strong mid-range pull that makes the car feel eager and responsive around town, while still being perfectly capable on open roads. The engine note remains unmistakably Mini  purposeful and characterful without being intrusive adding greatly to the driving experience. The engine bay presents extremely well, reflecting careful ownership and low mileage, with components appearing clean, original and correctly detailed. The multi-point injection setup is neatly integrated, maintaining a tidy and factory-correct appearance while offering the benefits of modern reliability and efficiency. Power is transmitted through the four-speed manual gearbox, a defining feature of late classic Minis. The gear change is direct and mechanical, with a positive feel that suits the car’s engaging driving style. Clutch take-up is progressive and light, making the car equally pleasant to drive in traffic or on longer journeys. Together, the 1.3 multi-point engine and four-speed manual transmission create a driving experience that perfectly balances nostalgia with usability. This pairing delivers the authentic Mini feel enthusiasts seek, while benefiting from the most advanced mechanical specification ever fitted to a classic Mini. It is a drivetrain that remains hugely rewarding, dependable and entirely in keeping with the Cooper name and one that further enhances the appeal of this low-mileage, late-production example WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES Sitting at each corner are 12-inch Ultralite eight-spoke alloy wheels, finished in silver and presented in excellent condition. The Ultralite design is one of the most recognisable and respected wheel styles associated with the Mini, offering a combination of reduced unsprung weight, strength and classic motorsport-inspired aesthetics. Their compact diameter and lightweight construction play a key role in preserving the Mini’s famously nimble handling characteristics. Each wheel is fitted with 165/60 R12 tyres, all of which display ample and even tread depth. This tyre size provides an ideal balance between grip, ride comfort and steering response, allowing the car to feel planted and predictable while maintaining the light, communicative steering for which the Mini is renowned. Braking is handled by a proven and effective setup, with disc brakes to the front and drum brakes to the rear. The front disc system delivers confident, progressive stopping power, At the rear, the drum brakes provide stable and well-balanced braking effort, perfectly suited to the Mini’s lightweight rear end and overall mass distribution. The braking system is assisted hydraulically, ensuring predictable pedal response and excellent modulation. Combined with the low vehicle weight and compact wheel and tyre package, the result is a braking performance that feels reassuringly strong and easy to control, both in everyday driving and during more spirited use. Overall, the wheel, tyre and brake configuration remains faithful to the Mini’s original design ethos light, responsive and mechanically engaging HISTORY FILE First registered on the 21st March 2000 by Main Rover agent Caffyns PLC Lewes East Sussex, Maintaining overall low mileage and only five former keepers, Original dealer book pack with Mini embossed logo  sitting neatly to the corner, Contents include : Original Rove Assistance breakdown call card, In car entertainment manual, European Directory, Owners Handbook and the all important original service book with the following entries: 05-03-2001..5064 miles 12-12-2001..8585 miles 27-03-2003..9179 miles 05-03-2004..9305 miles 24-03-2005..13817 miles 23-03-2006..15765 miles 20-03-2007..18574 miles 19-03-2008..21247 miles Having covered only 6000 miles since 2008 and now sits at 27228 miles from new, Also includes previous MOT Certificates indicating the vehicle has led a sheltered life sitting in collections being preserved beautifully In summary, this Rover Mini Cooper 1.3i represents a rare opportunity to acquire a beautifully preserved, late-production example of one of Britain’s most iconic cars.
