This 216 SE Cabriolet has 53080 miles on the clock. I have owned it for 4 years, prior to which it was stored for 12 years until the owner had to vacate the premises. It is in generally good condition. The underside is totally rot free. There a couple of spots of rust. The paintwork has a few slight blemishes. The alloys were refurbished before my ownership. The Grey leather interior is in overall good condition, with some wear on the driver’s seat and a minor scratch on the rear seat. There is a hole in the carpet on the driver’s side. I have been unable to source a replacement. The radio is not original – it’s a JVC radio/CD player. The aerial goes up and down as it should. I have downloaded a user manual. The electric windows and door mirrors operate as they should. Since I bought it the car has had a new timing belt, water pump, radiator, front shock absorbers, OSR brake cylinder, driver’s door latch assembly, OS driveshaft CV boot, exhaust mounting and complete mohair hood. The head gasket was replaced following overheating caused by a failed radiator fan switch. The engine pulls really well and running at 70 mph is no problem. An electrically powered hydraulic pump operates the hood. I had a brand new Mohair hood fitted. I had the metal strips holding the bottom of the hood completely refurbished, the hood mechanism stripped down and cleaned and two new hood positioning elbows fabricated. The car has a stainless steel exhaust, fitted before I bought it. The car was serviced at 52807 miles and has a new MoT. I’ve spent much more than this, but I think the price is realistic. It is clean, mechanically sound and ready to go and be enjoyed. All the major things have been done, but at nearly 30 years old, in time there will inevitably be things to do on it. The MoT tester told me that NSF brake binding slightly was due to lack of use. With only 200 miles between the last 2 MoT's, it needs an owner who will use it. The price is negotiable.
