This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, Online Auction - 26th June on Thursday the 26th of June. BackgroundOnly one motor manufacturer can boast a near 50 year dominance of the 'nippy sports car' market as MG did between the 1920s and the 1970s. Starting with the home-market demand for a reasonably priced convertible — met with equal parts optimism and stoicism on the part of the driver — MG led the field both at home and abroad. The 'Midget' moniker was first used with the introduction of the MG M-Type, produced between 1929 and 1932, one of the first genuinely affordable sports cars to be offered by an established manufacturer. The CarThis MG rolled off the Abingdon production line in 1974, being one of the very last chrome bumper, round wheel arch examples. The car is finished in dark green over a black faux leather interior, topped off with a lovely wooden steering wheel and gear knob. The interior is in superb condition and presents extremely well, with immaculate seats, carpets and trim. Accompanied by an extensive history file, the car is on the button and ready to enjoy and use, with the peace of mind offered by its excellent condition. The car has been fully restored and is in pristine condition and without fault. A colleague has driven the car and says, 'It drives like no other MG Midget’. It presents as well as the pictures show and is one of the best on sale. In summary, this is a beautifully finished example of MG’s budget sports car. It looks the part, sounds the part and drives the part. It has wonderful history and provenance and wears one of the best badges in the industry. Location: SurreyPhotos: ProfessionalSeller: Private
