KAWASAKI Z1000ST - £5,000
This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, The Iconic Motorcycle Sale at Shuttleworth - Summer 2025 on Sunday the 20th of July, Shuttleworth, Old Warden Park, Beds, SG18 9EP . Kawasaki's Z1000 first became available in 1977 and can trace its evolution back to the mighty Z1 Powered by a 1015cc in-line 4-cylinder producing 93bhp, it was one of the fastest bikes available at the time The 1979/1980 Z1000ST (E1/E2) was Kawasaki's first shaft-drive bike and was basically a MkII with minor modifications including tubeless tyres, a fuel gauge, thicker leading axle forks and a larger fuel tank On the road, the ST impressed with its power and its positive steering and should have sold well, but unfortunately it didn't, meaning that they are now rare bikes in the UK This 1981 UK-spec Z1000ST has been restored to a good standard and presents well in Luminous Dark Red Many new/old stock Kawasaki parts were used and it has been fitted with a stainless steel 4-1 exhaust (a common modification for this period) Confirmed in running condition and MOT exempt, the bike has covered around 14,000 miles with 2,500 of these since the restoration Supplied with a current V5C, owners manual, tool kit, details of parts used during the restoration, and lots of service, MOT and tax history An attractive example of a rare Japanese 80s classic and a real performance bargain
