1965 Jaguar E type series 1 4.2 Fixed head coupe finished in Aston Martin in Sky Silver and tastefully trimmed with a perfect Black hide interior and the benefit of a full length Tudor Webasto Sunroof finished in black mohair. This is an original UK supplied example and the present owner commissioned the well-respected Jaguar restorers, Southern Classics to carry out a complete rebuild of this car back in 2011 to “Fast Road Specification”, mainly for the purpose of continental touring. This process included a full engine rebuild by Classic and Modern Engine services and enhancing the engine performance to include high compression pistons, a fully balanced crankshaft and con-rods and clutch assembly with further additional gas-flowing of the cylinder head, all of which has resulted in increased brake horse-power and low-down torque. The original 4 speed gearbox was also completely rebuilt which coupled with what we believe to be a high ratio rear axle has resulted a low engine revs when cruising at high speeds. The braking system was suitably improved with the use of Coopercraft brake calipers and an improved servo system. The original cast exhaust manifolds have been replaced with free flow stainless steel manifolds, coupled to a full stainless steel exhaust system . At the same time, the car was the subject of a bare metal repaint and a tasteful retrim in black leather. The car sits on slightly wider than standard stainless steel chrome wire wheels, shod with Avon Turbospeed radial tyres for improved road holding.
