1973 JAGUAR E TYPE SERIES 3 V12 - £79,995
This exceptional matching numbers Jaguar E-Type V12 Series III Roadster was manufactured on the 16th November 1973 leaving the factory in British Racing Green with manual transmission. The E-Type was dispatched on the 18th January 1974 and distributed out of British Leyland, New York and is an exceptionally well maintained, structurally outstanding example. The E-Type spent many years as part of a privately owned museum collection and we believe this to be a low mileage car with its current recorded mileage of 39200 commensurate with the car’s history and condition. We first saw the car in 2023 and sold it to one of our regular customers who wanted to keep the car at his home in Monaco. The E-Type was driven down to the South coast, through France and has enjoyed a fine climate in more recent times. Much of this car's life has been spent in California, owned for some time by Donald Koll of ‘The Koll Company', an Orange County California real estate developer whose Company was responsible for developing over 90M square feet of office, industrial and retail space. The E-Type then sold to the Astor Classics Museum of Anaheim, California where the car spent fourteen years. The E-Type was part of Art Astors' (owner of Astor Broadcast Group) private collection that included 275 cars, more than 1000 radios, slot machines, jukeboxes, electric trains, vintage telephones, and TV's and lots of automobilia. His diverse collection spanning nine decades sold for over $15M when put through RM Auctions in California back in 2008. Prior to coming over to the UK in 2018, it was prepared for sale by a Missouri based dealership who carried out some light re-commissioning. The Jaguar was fully serviced, had all new drive belts, clutch slave cylinder, brake hoses, fuel sender unit, new hood and door seals amongst various other detailed items. On arrival in the UK the E-Type was checked over by an E-Type expert and found to be in exceptional structural condition. The major mechanical components were checked and reported to be in a condition commensurate with the low recorded mileage. Improvement work included a new set of chrome wire wheels and tyres, new servo, master cylinder, complete new stainless steel exhaust system, new high torque starter motor and the underbody was undersealed and waxoyled. The E-Type was also fitted with European specification stainless steel bumpers, back plate and reversing lights. Since selling in 2023, over £30,000 has been spent on the E-Type. This included a brand new clutch and flywheel, dropping of the rear differential cage and renewing the brakes, new brake discs all round, new clutch and slave cylinders, a brand new stainless steel exhaust system and the fitting of a brand new mohair hood and a complete full re-trim in Beige leather. EVN 511L has arrived with us in beautiful condition and in first mechanical order. The car has a very original, exceptional bodyshell and whilst it will have had some paintwork in its lifetime, its remarkably original. The interior is beautiful and a superb contrast against the British Green paintwork. The engine bay is very well presented and on the road this E-Type is first class with an excellent engine and gearbox, direct steering, excellent handling, and perfect road holding. This is a car ideal for European overseas tours in its original LHD format and has the benefit for air-conditioning. This is an E-Type that has been superbly maintained and has never suffered from corrosion issues ensuring we can offer a rock solid, strong, original car that feels authentic and original.
