This fine 900SS is among the last batch of bikes produced in 1981 and was first registered to UK Ducati distributor Coburn & Hughes Ltd ( Luton ) on 31st March that year but not sold until 1982. The then ageing bevel engine model giving way to the new belt driven Pantah V twin engine and the 900S2 with electric start. With the introduction of more powerful multi cylinder Japanese motorcycles at less money dealers were finding these bikes hard to sell at that time, who knew that 20 years later these bikes would become so collectable. Showing 24,986 miles the bike has 24 old MoT’s that go back to 1985 when it was showing as 7,089 miles indicating the current milage is correct. Restoration work was carried out in 2013 by D&V motorcycles ( Surrey ) and again in 2017 when a top end engine rebuild was done by Ray Petty Meccanica. In addition the bike has had a recent service, carb overhaul, new battery and new front brake master cylinder in our workshop. Remaining in very fine order and excellent running condition it is supplied with invoices for the restoration work, UK V5C and the original owners instruction manual.
