1925 BUGATTI T23 BRESCIA Chassis number: 2386 Registration Number: YL9910 Engine Number: 752 Mille Miglia Coefficient: 1.7 History: The Bugatti Type 23 with chassis Nr. 2386 left Molsheim on 7th February 1925 and was one of five Type 23 models delivered to the London based agent Chas. Jarrot & Letts. Ltd. Located at, 40 Conduit Street, London, W1. Of these five cars, numbered 2383 to 2387, there are only three surviving. One of them is this car, chassis 2386 with the now legendary 16 valve engine. The Brescia T23 was the first full production multivalve engine car ever made. This is a really charming little car with the added bonus of being a 4 seater, the rear seats being covered by a snap on tonneau cover when not in use. Paintwork is burgundy over black & in very nice order indeed. To the interior is tobacco coloured lether throughout. The dash is of machine turned aluminium & boasts the usual quota of Jaegar & Bugatti instrumentation. A hood snaps onto a frame that mounts to the top of the windscreen for wet weather use. Under the bonnet the engine is well detailed & tidy. Vast amounts of work have been done including a top end rebuild & a new Cylinder block. The bottom end on a separate occasion was rebuilt be marque specialist Ivan Dutton & the radiator recored by Anglia Radiators. The clutch has also been converted from wet to dry with the original parts being retained with the car. A thick history file comes with the car detailing the works undertaken & also contains lots of correspondence from former owners. There are also an assortment of period pictures of the car at different stages in its life including one taken in 1949. The car has an expired FIVA Passport with an A3 classification so it ought to be easily renewed by the next owner.
