First registered 14-03-59. Registration Number: 990FMB. This is an early example of the infamous MK1 Austin Healey Frogeye Sprite. Complete and original UK car. It was originally purchased via an advertisement describing it as a mildly restored example from the Scottish Isles. The odometer currently reads 87,985, just a 7 miles more since it was last MoT’d. The original plan was to drive it home but it never managed the journey eventually arriving by trailer. It was decided to complete a full restoration and the guy tasked with the work unfortunately passed away part way through the process. The car has languished in a garage for several years and we have decided to sell. The 948cc engine was completely rebuilt with new pistons rings, rebore, reground crank, bearings etc. It was then oiled up and put aside awaiting installation. The wheels were stripped and powder coated and a new set of matching tyres fitted. The bodywork was stripped and parts ordered to replace the those not deemed worthy of saving. You will see in the pictures some of new parts including a rear clam and wings etc. When the car was purchased the seats had just been retrimmed in Black leather with Red piping and are in excellent condition as is the new soft top. All the parts new and old are present. We contemplated cleaning everything up to show all the parts in their best light but decided it's barn find presentation complete with dust helped to tell the story that goes with this opportunity. The number plate alone could be worth £2,000 and the lowest priced rebuilt engine we could see is £1,500.
