A true British classic Austin Healey Sprite 948 CC first registered 15th June 1959. Coach work is the sought after Cherry Red with Red leather and White piping interior, contrasting Black Vinyl hood, side screen wind deflectors, tonneau cover together with a genuine Speedwell Works competition hard top in original Diamond White. Having covered 81,000 miles in 2004 the car had a full bare metal restoration where the owner recalled the restoration with pictures. In addition the engine was rebuilt with new pistons, camshaft, pumps and gaskets together with refurbishment of the brakes, suspension, steering and wheels. The previous owner carried out the following upgrades and refurbishments in 2018 using original parts where possible and some modifications were undertaken to improve performance. Under the bonnet the car now benefits from a Burgess stage two head with one to four ratio solid rockers, bigger valves, ported to match 2 new SU Venturi carbs and manifold. K&N filters complemented with the Maniflow LCB 4/2/1 manifold and Sportsmonza exhaust system. A new distributor with whole sensor, Duplex timing chain, oil cooler, electric fan and thermostat have been installed. The result of these upgrades being an increase in the compression ratio from 7.5 to 9.0 and an increase of the original 43 bhp to 60 bhp. New clutch brake master cylinder and clutch slave cylinder fitted in August 2021. It now has new road springs, shock absorbers uprated 10%, brake shoes, drums, servo and anti roll bar finished with a further waxoyl. Electric fuel pump fitted in August 2021. On the exterior, a new front bumper and irons were fitted and original metal bonnet was sourced and was front hinged. Five new Chrome wire wheels with Firestone Multihawk two tyres together with new inner tubes. Chrome boot rack.
