The Mini was manufactured by the British Motor Corporation (BMC) and its successors from 1959 until 2000. The original is considered a British icon of the 1960’s and its space-saving front-wheel drive layout allowing 80% of the car's floorpan to be used for passengers and luggage, influenced a generation of car makers. In 1999, the Mini was voted the second most influential car of the 20th century behind the Ford Model T. Initially Minis were marketed under the Austin and Morris names until Mini became a marque in its own right in 1969. The Mini was again marketed under the Austin name in the 1980’s and was offered in a number of limited editions that usually included a special combination of trim and badging.

This Rover Mini Balmoral was manufactured in 1997 and first registered on 5th February 1998. It is thought this car may have been earmarked for delivery to Japan, although that did not happen as the car has been UK based all of its life. It benefits from a recent service, refurbished wheels, new bumpers, door seals and suspension. It presents in fabulous condition and we are advised it drives as well as it looks. Limited/named Minis have become increasingly popular of late, this 1275cc example with its low mileage and air conditioning is expected to create interest in the auction arena. Supplied with a V5C registration document together with a current MoT test certificate valid until 22nd November 2024, this Mini is definitely one to keep an eye on. Consigned by Stewart Banks.
