FAQs

Welcome to ClassicCarsForSale, the UK's best marketplace for buyers and traders.

New Site Questions:

When did the new site launch?
The new look CCFS launched on 31/3/15 on a new platform to improve the speed and ease of finding or selling your next classic car

Where is the log-in page?
You no longer need to log-in to the site to sell a car, or set-up email alerts.

Is my current advert or email alerts still in place?
Yes all live private adverts have been ported across to the new site. Email alerts will also remain in place.

How do I edit/cancel my private ad?
You should have received an email containing a link to your old advert. If you can't find this, please email us with the advert ID or the email address you used to place the advert and we'll re-send you the link.

Is advertising a Vehicle or Spares, Parts and Automobilia free?

ClassicCarsForSale is completely FREE for private sellers uploading a standard advert. Sell a private item here

Dealers should call 01733 395207 or 01733 468500 to speak to a sales representative or alternatively upload cars on a self-serve PAYG basis by clicking here.

How do I place an advert?
Visit the private seller page and follow the simple upload process. Upload up-to 100 photos and unlimited text and choose your package. Standard is FREE or upgrade to Premium to get enhanced listings for only £9.99

What information should I supply for my advert?
We ask the basics such as make, model, price and location as part of the upload process, but the best response will be gained by providing detailed information. List optional equipment or upgrades and load as many photos as you can. Simply put, the more info you provide, the easier it is to match with buyers looking for those features.

I am struggling to upload pictures for my advert
Each image must be no more than 4MB in size. The easiest way of ensuring you can upload pictures is to change the image size on your camera BEFORE you take the pictures. Most digital cameras have a picture setting for online images which is smaller than 0.5mb per image. Select this setting and then take the pictures you wish to use in your advert. Download them to the computer you will use for placing your advert. You will then be able to select them when you are placing an Advert. If you have larger-sized images you will need to resize them on your computer (this can be done in most image storing programs before attempting to upload them to your advert.

How long do adverts last?
All private adverts are hold until sold and will remain live on the site until you remove your advert. We will contact you after 3 months to remind you.

How do I edit or remove my advert?
Once you place your advert you will receive an email from us with a link. Please keep this email safe. It contains links to edit your advert, and also see how many times your ad has been viewed.

What if I don’t have a digital camera?
We can accept your advert by post. Simply send your photos and wording (including all information requested in the listing process) and we will do the rest for you. Post to: Classic Cars For Sale Ads, Bauer Media, Media House, Lynch Wood, Peterborough PE2 6EA

I am concerned about scams. How do I know an enquiry is genuine?
We do all we can to stop scammers emailing sellers and our software is very successful in stopping most of them. However, we cannot guarantee that some enquiries may not be genuine. The short answer is, if it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is! If you think you have been contacted by scammer, please send the details to reportabuse@classiccarsforsale.co.uk and we will investigate and take action where appropriate. If you think an advert is suspicious then please let our team know.

Should I email or telephone a seller?
Telephone is the best way of reaching the seller directly and is recommended. Email is an option for general enquiries. Please mention Classiccarsforsale.co.uk – the No1 marketplace for buying and selling classic cars when replying to all adverts

What does POA stand for?
Price on Application. Using this in your advert can put some prospective buyers off. We recommend you state an actual price.
