1956 MG A Roadster 1500. An original UK supplied RHD car with a rare Derrington light alloy crossflow cylinder head. I purchased the car in October 2013 as a barn find with no documentation or V5C. Over the next seven years the car underwent a complete nut and bolt restoration of which I have a full photographic record. The engine and carburettors were professionally rebuilt. All parts were either refurbished where possible or replaced, predominantly from the MG Owners Club or Moss Europe. The chassis was professionally powder coated as were most of the suspension components. Following extensive bodywork restoration the car was professionally resprayed in it's original Old English White colour. All the brightwork was professionally re-chromed and the interior was completely renewed in Red leather including the installation of seat belts. The indicators were upgraded to 1600 specification to more safely deal with modern motoring expectations (the original Red lights are included in the sale). The car was fitted with a modern 123 electronic ignition system and a bespoke Maniflow exhaust system. The car has a Black tonneau cover and restored side screens. The hood frame has been refurbished and will need a new fabric hood. The odometer is currently showing 67210 miles (the car has done less than 1000 miles since its restoration). In July 2020, having finished the restoration, I applied for an age related registration plate and now have a V5C registration document in my name along with a Heritage Certificate verifying chassis numbers etc. The car is MoT and road tax exempt and currently has an agreed valuation insurance of £32000. This car is not a concourse example but is pretty close. It starts and drives well and is a real head turner ready for a glorious summer of classic car motoring.
