The final evolution of the XK platform, introduced with the XK 120 in 1948, the XK 150 brought many mechanical improvements—as well as welcome doses of comfort and luxury—to Jaguar’s competition-proven sports car lineup when it debuted for 1957. The XK 150 3.4 featured two SU carburetors, and its dual-overhead-cam inline-six produced a very respectable 190 horsepower. The XK 150’s re-worked body design included a wider one-piece curved windscreen and thinner doors, providing greater interior space and comfort. Not entering production until 1958, the roadster variant featured roll-up windows to ensure optimal weather protection.

Completed on 19 June 1958, this XK 150 3.4 Roadster left the Coventry, England factory destined for Max Hoffman’s Jaguar dealership in New York. Originally finished with a Cream exterior over a black leather interior with a Fawn hood, this Jaguar presents today with a double-red exterior and interior. Significantly, the roadster further retains its matching-numbers engine, cylinder head, and body, according to the Jaguar Heritage Trust production record trace certificate on file. A large collection of photographs within the vehicle’s history file confirms two restorations were performed, with the first occurring in the late 1970s and the most recent occurring in the early 1990s.

This second restoration is responsible for the highly appealing state of the Jaguar today. As shown in the documentation, the entire car was disassembled and rebuilt to an incredible concours standard. Soon after its completion, it was honored in Jaguar Clubs of North America competition, achieving over 99 points in judging at both regional and biennial national meets in 1993.

The Dare to Dream Collection eventually acquired this XK 150 Roadster in 2012 and it has remained a fixture ever since. Wonderfully restored and with a matching-numbers engine, cylinder head, and body, this XK 150 3.4 roadster is the definitive classic fit for a show field or a thrilling drive on a tour.
