In the official announcement, the 458 was described as the successor to the F430 but arising from an entirely new design, incorporating technologies developed from the company's experience in Formula 1. The 458 is powered by a 4.5 litre V8 engine of the ‘Ferrari/Maserati’ F136 engine family. The engine also featured direct fuel injection, which is a first for Ferrari mid-engine set-ups in its road cars. The car's suspension features double wishbones at the front and a multi-link set-up at the rear, coupled with E-Diff and F1-Trac traction control systems, designed to improve the car's cornering and longitudinal acceleration by 32% when compared with its predecessors. The brakes include a prefill function whereby the pistons in the calipers move the pads into contact with the discs on lift off to minimize delay in the brakes being applied. Ferrari's official 0–62 mph acceleration is an impressive 2.9 seconds, and the top speed is 210 mph.

Originally supplied by Graypaul, Birmingham on 20th December 2013, this stunning 458 Italia is finished in metallic black, matched with the black leather interior with yellow stitching, this is a magnificent looking supercar. The specification of this car is impressive with a carbon interior, including steering wheel, LED’s and fully electric seats. A 458 is a real driver’s offering from the Modena based manufacturer. Fire up the 4497cc V8 engine and suddenly you are aware of the power available under your right foot. From a drivers’ perspective this car is almost effortless to drive, behaving well in traffic and with excellent roadholding matched with ample performance on the open road. The styling of these supercars is without doubt, one of the best from the Maranello factory. The fastidious vendor has ensured throughout his stewardship that the car has been maintained regularly at Ferrari main dealer H.R. Owen. The most recent service was carried out on 5th April 2024 at a cost of £3,591.31 at 12,390 miles. The previous service and additional work was again carried out by H.R.
