The fifth series of the Aston Martin DB4 was built over a short period from September 1962 to June 1963, just before the DB5 was launched. These final DB4s were made with a longer body for increased legroom and boot capacity, while also featuring a higher roofline and 15-inch wheels. Inside, the instrument panel from the marque’s GT models was fitted as standard.

Built in the latter half of 1962, chassis DB4/1132/L is thought to be one of just 20 left-hand-drive Series V DB4 Vantages made. It was built to order by Monsieur Jacques Mazerolle and delivered via the agent Société Mirabeau on 28 December 1962 with Black paintwork over a Red Connolly leather interior.

The Aston Martin remained with Mazerolle until 30 June 1967, when he sold the car to Madame Delecour of Colombes. By March 1969, this DB4 Vantage was now in the care of Monsieur Legry, but he did not retain the car for long, selling the vehicle on 27 April 1970 to an unknown owner, who remained the custodian for 13 years. On 21 July 1983, Monsieur Trehin of Plaisir discovered chassis DB4/1132/L in a Parisian garage in a state requiring restoration. When he acquired the car, it has been resprayed in metallic grey, but retained its factory-correct interior. The engine rebuilt as the DB4 Series V Vantage was returned to roadworthy condition. Re-registered to a family relative of Monsieur Trehin on 17 July 2000, he finally parted ways with the car in October 2010, after 27 years of ownership.

Acquired via Garage DPM Motors of Monaco in 2010, this DB4 Series V Vantage was exported to Kuwait where it formed part of a significant collection. Today, the Aston Martin is finished in silver and retains its factory-correct Red Connolly leather interior. Following an inspection, it can be confirmed this vehicle retains its matching-numbers Vantage engine. This car is offered with a copy of its factory build sheet, historic ownership logs, previous titles, and a report by historian Marc Rabineau

Please note, having remained on static display since 2010, this Aston Martin will require restoration to achieve a concours-level standard and bidders are encouraged to perform a mechanical check before running the car on the road.
This French-delivery DB4 offers continuous ownership history and presents an exciting opportunity to acquire a rare and sought after late model Vantage-powered Aston Martin.
