I have owned my Wolseley for almost 6 years bought in Sept 2018. It drives superbly with the fantastic overdrive gearbox operating on 2nd and 3rd gears. 3rd gear being top. Kickdown working perfectly to give you extra power on steep climbs. The colour of the body is Yukon Grey complimented by the Blood Red leather which is totally original with no rips or tears. So, mechanically the big Wolseley drives as it should with a very impressive oil pressure reading on the move of around 60-65 psi, only dropping to 50 on tickover. Mileage has not yet reached 49,000 from new and confirmed by the history. I've just had some repair work done underneath on the outriggers etc and fully undersealed for good rain and salt protection. Also had the overdrive unit repaired for a sticking Governor, but all functioning perfectly now just in time for the show season and classic car runs. We’ve done many trips to the North of Scotland and North of England during our ownership and has performed faultlessly, for charity e.g. RNLI. The big Wolseley gets around 26-28 MPG on a steady cruise dropping to around 22 for town driving. My car gets oodles of attention every time it gooes out and for those not in the know were used by the Metropolitan Police from 1959-1968 until the end of the production run. Also is the same engine used by the Austin Healey 3000 sports car, so you can imagine it pulls and sounds beautifully in this big saloon. Has new MoT until 31.03.2025. Looking for £12,000 ovno.
