My 1994 Red 480 ES 2.0 has reached the end of it's life, and is free to anyone willing to collect it for spares (ignore the nominal price shown in this listing), rusty beyond repair after sitting for a dozen years. Good points - done around 70,000 miles, gearbox was very good, engine likewise, interior complete and pretty good. No battery but otherwise complete car. I've taken out the plugs and put a borescope in the bores and they look good, shiny not rusty. Engine turns over nicely using a bar and socket and I can feel good compression. However I won't risk turning it over on the starter, never mind try firing it up, in case the timing belt gives up. My plan, before I found the rust detailed below, was to take the head off and, if all well, fit new gaskets and timing belt kit, then get it running. Bad points - front subframe terminally rusted, large holes, paper thin. Front jacking points collapsed, rear wheel arches moth-eaten, likewise sills, door bottoms etc. Info centre was working but temperamental of course, dependent on temperature. I have freed off all 4 wheels so it can easily be winched onto a trailer. Would be a pity to just send it to a breaker's. It is near Kinross, about 25 miles north of Edinburgh. I have added a few pictures, can send at least another 25 more showing the details on request. Will add such spares as I have - good radiator, exhaust manifold, wheel arch repair panels (as in picture) etc. Currently on SORN.
