1979 VOLKSWAGEN T2 BAY WINDOW - £16,995
The VW Camper is a very iconic vehicle with a very special place in motor vehicle history. German car manufacturers have stamped authority on various markets throughout time, and perhaps the most recognisable vehicle ahead of a 911 is a VW campervan. The VW camper went through several iterations, each time becoming more refined. The 1979 model was among the last of the T2 Bay Window vans produced in Germany which for most regions marked the end of the air-cooled era of VW vans. Today, the T2 Campervan is a collector's item, prized for its nostalgic design and versatility. This particular example resided in Somerset from 1987 to 2023 and then came into the hands of one of our customers in Dorset who had the VW prepared after a few years of very little use. HAD 177V presents really well throughout with good panel gaps, and a pleasant paint finish from what looks to be an older, high quality respray. The interior is very tidy with clean and well-presented upholstery, it is also equipped with a beautiful cooking unit, toilet, good storage space. Having benefitted from a recent thorough strip and clean of the carburettor, and a replacement starter solenoid, this camper fires up on the first time of asking and drives very well. On the road in this 1979 VW T2 Bay Window Campervan is a unique, nostalgic adventure that blends freedom, simplicity, and a touch of quirkiness. The high, upright driving position and large bay window give you a commanding view, making every drive feel like a dive into the past. Its great fun for all the family, and can be driven and enjoyed wtih confidence.
