A fast becoming future classic, with less than 1000 left on the road, the VW Polo GTi is a classic example of exactly what a little hot hatch produced between 1999 and 2001 can be all about. A really fun drive, the compact hot hatch, which left the factory with 132bhp, drives and handles like a 24 year old car should do. Rare full leather interior, with both front heated seats working, to get you toasty quickly! The interior is tidy for it's age, but it is 24 years old, so it is aged accordingly. Pioneer head unit fitted, but it still has the rare original CD multi changer in the boot. Car comes with two keys. VW service history up to 90k, plus loads of receipts and invoices outlining other works done to the car. In our ownership we have: Replaced the gearbox, a known weak point of these cars. Replaced the clutch whist the gearbox was being swapped. New front brake pads, discs and rebuilt calipers. Rear boot lock has been replaced – this now has a separate key from the rest of the car, but still works on the central locking. New boot gas struts. New 12V battery. Both front door lock paddles rebuilt, a common issue with older VW’s. Replacement of the rear seat handles, so the rear seat now folds. Repaired the ‘left light on’ buzzer, a common issue on older VW’s. The central locking doesn’t work properly, so the car needs to be manually locked and unlocked with the key.
