Volkswagen’s collaboration with legendary rock band, Pink Floyd, in the mid-1990s produced one of the most distinctive special editions of the era, the Golf Cabriolet Pink Floyd Edition. Combining Volkswagen’s renowned build quality with subtle stylistic nods to one of Britain’s most influential groups, the car was a celebration of individuality, creativity and good taste. Based on the Mk3 Golf Cabriolet, the Pink Floyd Edition featured unique badging, colour-keyed bumpers and mirrors, special seat upholstery inspired by the band’s Dark Side of the Moon album, and a high quality sound system complete with factory Pink Floyd logos. Today, these limited editions are rare survivors, with few remaining in original form. The example offered here however is unique one of the only Pink Floyd Editions to have been owned by a member of the band itself. This car is offered directly from the personal collection of Nick Mason CBE, legendary drummer of Pink Floyd, racing driver and long time car enthusiast whose automotive passion is well documented. Nick acquired the Golf some years ago, for obvious and entirely fitting reasons, as a project to restore. Although the restoration was never completed, the car is offered with an extensive collection of accompanying parts and a full list detailing them is available upon request. The Harefield Healing Garden is a landscaped natural space within the grounds of the world-renowned Harefield Hospital. The garden was created through fundraising efforts, and is maintained by volunteers. It is a green space for patients, their families and staff, which can be a sanctuary away from the stress and anxieties of the hospital’s wards and theatres. As a specialist Heart and Lung centre, Harefield deals with the most seriously ill patients, and this small piece of nature has proved invaluable to recovery, rest, and contemplation. On a personal level The Garden is particularly important to the Mason family, as both a family member, as well as two close friends, have been patients at Harefield. Supporting the garden represents a small gesture of thanks that can be of benefit to patients, visitors and staff.
