1971 Triumph Spitfire MK IV. Having purchased the vehicle in July 2020, I undertook a full restoration of the car which included a bare metal respray in the original Blue which I understand is the very rare colour of Valencia Blue. At this stage floor pans and lower wings were replaced. The engine (a replacement 1500 unit) has been stripped down and checked with new rings being fitted and runs extremely well with excellent oil pressure, the gearbox has been fully rebuilt by Heathrow Transmissions which together with the new clutch has resulted in a very smooth driving experience. I have MoT certificates from 1996 to 2010 and whilst the vehicle is MoT exempt, I had a fresh MoT put on in August of this year with no advisories. The car is now ready for many years of trouble free classic car motoring with all major components having been refurbished or replaced. A summary of the work carried out is as follows: New floors and repair arches to wings fitted. Bare metal respray in the very rare original colour (Valencia Blue). New Brakes all round including Master cylinder, wheel cylinders, brake hoses, pads/shoes, discs and drums. Refurbished steel wheels complete with centres and Spitfire decals. New tyres all round (less than 100 miles use). New front and rear shock absorbers. New front coil springs. All front suspension has been professionally powder coated. New exhaust system fitted (less than 100 miles of use). New wiper motor. New hood. New carpets. Refurbished steering wheel. Seats have been recovered with new seat foams using original vinyl covers. New original Triumph spec dash purchased from Rimmer Bros. New clutch including master cylinder. Newly rebuilt gearbox (May 2025). New battery.
