1974 TRIUMPH 1500TC - £9,995
GLO 509N is a wonderful low mileage, low ownership car retaining its original colour combination of Honeysuckle paintwork and Chesnut trim. This timewarp example has arrived with us having covered just 60,000 miles and comes with an incredible history adding further provenance to the car. Our Triumph 1500TC was supplied new by Wrights Motors of Rickmansworth for a sum of £1791.12 to a gentleman based in Hertfordshire who cherished the Triumph for 26 years. Accompanying the car is handwritten notes of journeys covered and expenditure throughout the 70s, 80s, and 90s by the first owner along with a brown leather 1500TC manual, and a few useful handbooks. The Triumph 1500 followed on gracefully from the 1300 model and whilst the same audience was targeted, the 1500 was equipped with a variety of improvements. On the road the1500 was improved by the powertrain being at the rear offering better handling and for fuel delivery, two carburettors were fitted to the 1500 indicated by the ‘TC' part of its name adding extra performance for the 4-soor saloon. Encapsulating the sense of refinement, the Chesnut interior has been exceptionally well-kept and appears remarkably original commensurate with the lovely mileage. Equipped with a rev counter and an aftermarket DAB radio, this is a Triumph very suited to longer journeys and touring. Further enhancements include a Moto-Lita steering wheel, Lucas auxiliary lights and alloy rocker cover. Although not a concours car, GLO 509N would be best admired at local shows, taken on rallies, and to be enjoyed on the road and is without doubt a true 1970's time warp.
