One of the most revered drivers’ cars of the last decade, the Toyota GR Yaris, a true homologation special in the most literal sense, certainly lived up to its hype when launched in 2020 and attracted a huge amount of interest worldwide, receiving 5-star reviews by all respected titles and regularly receiving Car of the Year nominations. Powered by a unique to the model, 1.6 litre three-cylinder engine which, with the aid of a turbocharger, produces 257bhp and 265lb ft of torque. Drive is taken through a six-speed manual transmission to the GR-Four all-wheel drive chassis. The punchy engine and four-wheel drive together enable the GR Yaris to reach 62mph from rest in just 5.5sec. Top speed is an electronically limited 142mph. The Toyota GR Yaris was available in three specifications: base, Convenience Pack and Circuit Pack. Key features of the Circuit Pack specification were larger brakes, forged Enkei wheels with Michelin PS 4 rubber, a stiffer suspension tune and a locking differential on both axles.
