Silk Engineering released the Silk 700S in 1976 and produced it until 1979 Using a Spondon-designed frame and a Scott Flying Squirrel-derived 660cc twin two-stroke engine  Powerful engine, a good power-to-weight ratio and modern electrics enabled the bike to reach speeds over 100mph Expensive in period compared to its competition and only 138 bikes were produced in total, making them hard to find Complete with its original Bill of Sale (10/11/1977) - £1,749.60 V5C shows four previous owners. Last Tax Disc expired 30/09/2009 The history file contains an invoice from Norton Motorcycles dated 10/12/2008 for £4,600.37 and includes new Hagon rear shocks, wheels rebuilt, gasket set and rings etc. for a top-end rebuild, engine vapour-blasted and powder-coated, polish and electro-plating the exhaust, silencer, brake discs, engine bars, wheel cylinders etc. Supplied with an Owners Handbook (May 1977) and a bespoke bike cover
