Whilst it is certainly true that there are a number of similarities that follow through from the previous model, the Stuttgart firm have always been very keen to point out that at least 85% of the 964 generation 911, in fact, differed. From the obvious change to the bumpers, through to the increased displacement of the car's motive power, ABS brakes now became standard and careful attention has been paid to the aerodynamics used to reduce the drag coefficient down to virtually zero. The stability and road holding at high speed were also greatly improved with a new retractable spoiler automatically extending at 50mph seriously increasing downforce and doubling the volume of air fed into the engine compartment.

First registered on 20th March 1990, this attractive Carrera 2 was specified with the desirable manual gearbox and deep bolster black leather electrically adjustable seats. The car was purchased by the vendor's father as a stolen and recovered Category D insurance write off with only the driver's door lock having been damaged. Unaware that you top up the oil whilst the engine is running with a Porsche, sadly the vendor's father caused piston ring damaged overfilling the engine whilst not running . Thankfully the family business is refurbishing and selling engines and so the vendor, having purchased the car form his father, decided to rebuild the engine replacing all the rings and checking all the internals at the same time. Since then, the clutch has been upgraded to a RS clutch, it was given a valve clearance service and new fuel pump in July 2024 with the supplied service book showing seven service stamps. Bearing a Carrera RS badge on the boot lid, the car also benefits from replica RS wheels, lowered suspension, a new steering rack, RS steering wheel and a Roock performance exhaust system. A new set of Michelin tyres have been fitted less than 100 miles ago and the car comes complete with a new MoT test certificate valid until June 2026. The test drive was impressive with the car pulling well and feeling very solid without any creaks or rattles.
