This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, The Iconic Sale at the NEC Classic Motor Show 2025 on Saturday the 8th of November, NEC, Birmingham, B40 1NT. The 993 was the final generation of the air-cooled 911 and as such will always have a special place in the affections of Porsche enthusiasts. It's also widely said to be the last of the 911s that were built whilst engineering integrity overruled accounting pressures at Porsche. 20 years on, it still looks modern - a truly timeless design. It was introduced in the autumn of 1994 and was claimed to be 80% new with more curvaceous bodywork and a number of new panels creating a much smoother and more integrated look however, importantly, this new style was still every inch a 911 in the traditional manner, with the profiles of the doors and rear quarter windows remaining unchanged from earlier models. British designer, Tony Hatter’s, penmanship effortlessly combined subtlety and road presence for a changing demographic with an expansive option list to match the individual’s enthusiasm at a time when the right image was deemed as important as performance. Finished in Arctic Silver Metallic with a black leather interior, this 911 Targa was supplied new by Lancaster Porsche Bow on the 1st August 1997. The factory specification included PAS. ABS, E/windows, Air conditioning/Climate control, electric glass roof and with factory options of electric Sports Seats, rear window wiper, Tiptronic buttons on the steering wheel, top-tinted screen and an onboard computer. The hard back sports seats are a very special option as these are the same ones that were fitted to the 993 RS 'Comfort' model and the car rides on the Targa-specific Speedline split-rims. The service books shows stamps from AFN Guildford and JCT600 and then invoices from the RGA Porsche of London and Strasse Leeds who conducted a full engine rebuild in 2020. Amongst multiple invoices in the history file, the rebuild invoice from Strasse lists all the new components used. Most recent work in May 2025 includes a service and fitting a new alternator. MOTs in the file date back to 2001 corroborating the indicated mileage which now reads 78,333. Complete with its Porsche owners wallet and book pack, Guarantee & Maintenance booklet, and spare keys. It still retains its original factory build/ C16 sticker under the bonnet and the Panoramic roof and screen work perfectly. This lovely, late-production Targa presents a great opportunity to own a Porsche 993 from long-term caring ownership at a realistic level with the Targa roof just a switch away.
