This is not a typical example of an early Porsche 911S. We purchased this car as a super low mileage example from a US dealer, as the ultimate derivation of the air cooled 'pre-impact' 911's (excluding the Carrera!) requiring work. Sold new in Switzerland, it had made it's way under the same family owership to Texas. Upon importation by us, we then undertook a detailed and exhaustive 'nut and bolt' restoration which included: Glass blasted bodyshell to bare metal. Replacement of front wings and floor pans, sills and all the typical areas of concern including heater chanels etc. The finished metalwork was then seam sealed as per factory, rubber coated underfloors, levelled and painted to our usual standards. Over 1200 hours were allocated to the body restoration alone. The engine was stripped and rebuilt in detail. Due to it's incredibly low mileage, internally it was found to be in superb original condition having never been previously dismantled. All lower end bearing and piston rings were replaced and the bottom end of the engine fully balanced with re-faced flywheel and new original clutch assembly. The cylinder heads were fully rebuilt with new valves and guides. New exhaust and overhauled original heat exchangers were fitted. The fuel injection system was fully overhauled including correct re-plating of all steel pipework. Brakes and suspension were all overhauled and renewed including shock absorbers, brake discs and calipers, all new hand made pipework. All suspension bushing was replaced. Wiring and gauges were overhauled and new lights and lenses fitted for UK driving. The interior and dashboard were all fully restored with new door cards, door map pockets and leather to front seats. The carpets were replaced with correct weave material and the targa top fully restored with all new rubbers and seals as required. The orignal Fuchs wheels were restored with new and correct Michelin tyres fitted. The space-saver spare was checked and restored. This car wants for absolutley nothing. It had a no-expense-spared restoration by DTR Sports Cars, it drives as well as it looks. We are confident there are few 911S's out there in anything approaching this condition.
