Built in 1976, the Piper offered was briefly in the ownership of 2 individuals before being acquired by the current owner in December 1979, residing with him ever since. ‘MAM 870P’ now displaying a recorded mileage of less than 7,000 miles albeit the speedometer taco had to be recalibrated in 1997 due to a differential ratio change. The "true" mileage is circa 20,000 miles as the previous taco reading was circa 13,000 miles. I hope this is clear now. Comprehensively restored in 1997, the works completed included the subframe being Zinc galvanized and strengthened; roll cage fitted and bodywork recently resprayed in Red. This was effectively the nearest paint match to previous colour, which had faded. Mechanical improvements comprised of a Stage 2 Ford Crossflow engine (supplied by Anglian Engines) with stage 2 Piper Cam, a "Piper" all-steel rocker assembly and twin 40 Webber DCOE’s carburettors being fitted. Gearbox was replaced with an identical refurbished Ford 2000E (three rail version) mated to a 3.0 Capri back axle, with renovated gear ratios changed to 3.77 to 1, hence the need for tacho rebuild. Interior was refurbished with the seats with cloth inserts. Other additions such as a Kenlowe Fan, alternator, radiator and associated pipework all changed with the Piper, uprated with power server assisted braking. Interior has Kenwood CD Radio with 150-Watt Speakers. It also has a reversing camera (detachable from the dashboard) and individual "powered" air vents. Coveted by the owner, the Piper is now offered following his forty-five-year ownership. This is primarily due to difficulty getting "in and out". I have made manuals of both mechanical and electrical aspects of the car and have moulds for specific parts like headlamp covers and side windows. Complete history of servicing, work undertaken over the 45 year ownership available with the purchase.
