This outstanding UK Home Market matching numbers Austin Mini Cooper MKII was manufactured on the 2nd April 1968 for the RHD Home Market and supplied new in Tartan Red and Black with Black trim. Sold new by H A Saunders Limited, Finchley, the Mini was first registered on the 21st June 1968 and supplied with the Hertfordshire registration mark DUR 677F. This outstanding example first came to us in 2022 having recently been subject to a full bare shell, nut and bolt restoration. The Mini had spent around five years in the Tamworth area before being purchased by a customer of ours in Essex who was commissioning a restoration program for his collection of Minis that included a 1275GT, Pick Up and Van. The Cooper was the final rebuild to be completed and was collected from the restorer earlier in 2022. A photo album nicely documents a full bare shell rebuilt that was carried out to a magnificent standard. The Mini Cooper arrived fresh from rebuild and was then fully checked over at our workshop before delivery to its next owner. We will also be carried out some running in miles, so the Mini was ready for shows, events, touring and general classic car use. The Mini has since spent the past two years in Cornwall and has been thoroughly enjoyed by its last owner. We can confirm the Mini comes back in exceptional condition with a first class bodyshell with colour coded painted underside. The bare shell was totally rebuilt with various new panels, and completely re-painted and built up with new trims, seals, brightwork and rubbers and still rebuild fresh. DUR 677F was treated to a full engine rebuild, full mechanical and electrical overhaul and is mechanically first class. The engine bay was finished to a top class standard, and the level of detail that has gone into the car is particularly high. The inner arches, boot compartment and underside show this has been completed with no expense spared. The Mini presents beautifully, the interior has been superbly re-trimmed, and the car has a lovey finish throughout. The rebuild has been carried out by a Mini expert, and the quality of the mechanical build also highlights this. The engine is super fit, the gearbox lovely and smooth and the car feels tight, fresh and absolutely right. Now nicely run in, this is a Mini ready to drive and enjoy.
