First registered on the 1st of January in 1959, this outstanding MGA is one of the 2111 Twin Cam examples ever built. 602 XUA left the Abingdon Factory in Old English White with a Black interior and has been subject of a truly top class, fully body off restoration with supporting photographic record and comprehensive invoice file. The car has been finished to a show class level and has arrived with us from the New Forest in stunning condition in every respect. The MGA spent its early life in the USA and arrived back in the UK in 1990, reported to have all original panels in rust free condition forming the basis for a high class rebuild. The car was dry stored for around 15 years until 2005 when the very well-respected MG A Specialist, Bob West carried out the RHD conversion. In 2006, the owner commissioned a full body-off restoration taking the car to a fantastic standard, taking home two trophies from a show on completion as per photographs in the history file. The body was removed from the chassis and the car completely rebuilt from the ground up, a full, well detailed nut and bolt restoration was carried out an exceptionally high standard. The file details a major engine and gearbox rebuild, and full mechanical and electrical overhaul. Since rebuilt the MGA has covered several thousand miles and today still presents as sharp as it did on completion. When you approach the car you are met with beautiful pristine paintwork, the deep finish gleams so many years on since completion. The upholstery is still of an impressive standard, clearly re-trimmed professionally, the seats, door cards and weather equipment are all impressive. Upon turning the key and engaging the starter, the rebuilt Twin Cam engine fires straight up with a fantastic exhaust note. As you accelerate through the rev range the engine pulls you away quickly going through the gears before tackling corners with the very responsive steering. With the roof collapsed and on the open road, this MGA is synonymous with all you would want from an open top classic car. The MG A Twin Cam models are becoming increasingly more difficult to find in this condition and with this specific example beholding all its original panels, being subject to a major bare chassis rebuild it represents a fantastic opportunity to purchase a truly sought after MG model that would no doubt cost double our asking to rebuild again to this standard.
