This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, Online Auction - 10th July on Thursday the 10th of July. Background:The MG Midget is one of Britain’s most beloved classic sports cars, offering spirited driving and timeless style in a compact, affordable package. The 1500 model, introduced in 1974, brought with it increased displacement and improved drivability, along with refinements to comfort and practicality. With its light weight and simple mechanicals, the Midget remains a favourite among enthusiasts for both restoration and classic motoring fun. The Car:Finished in iconic British Racing Green, this 1976 MG Midget 1500 is part-way through a rolling restoration and offers an opportunity to enjoy and improve a classic sports car as you go. The bumpers have been removed for a cleaner, more purposeful look — giving it a nod to the earlier chrome-bumpered style. It starts, runs and drives, though it would benefit from a light tune-up. The interior is excellent and original, and the car also comes with a new set of door cards and trim pieces to further enhance the cabin. The hood is in good condition, and both a hood cover and tonneau cover are included. Bodywork is mostly solid, with just a few small bubbles as shown, and a small hole on the nearside rear boot floor, also pictured. Overall, the car is structurally sound and presents a strong base for finishing a rewarding classic project. This is a charming, usable Midget that can be enjoyed from day one, while steadily completing the cosmetic restoration — all offered without reserve.
