Background:Mercedes-Benz first entered the compact sports saloon segment with the 190E Cosworth in 1984. However, subsequent high performance offerings from its AMG division, while quick, never quite managed to challenge the dominance of the BMW M3. That all changed dramatically in 2008. Rather than subtle competition, Mercedes opted for a more direct approach - a significant engine upgrade that didn’t just compete with its rival, it completely overwhelmed it. While there’s more to the C63 than just raw power, the W204 generation is undeniably defined by its phenomenal M156 6.2-litre V8 engine. But, to add to the tool to the C63's arsenal against its rivals, the car was offered in arguably its most desired form, the estate.
