In production for 13 years, the R129 SL probably did more than any other to create the 'hewn-from-solid' reputation that Mercedes then enjoyed The 500SL (SL500 from 1994) was the flagship of the range and was powered by the M119 5-litre, 32-valve V8 generating 322bhp This Almandine Red example is supplied with its matching factory hardtop and was delivered new in May 1993 Classic SL interior in soft Mushroom leather Recently serviced with expenditure on the front suspension and headlamp washers The speedometer shows 10,580 miles but it's noted to have had a replacement speedo in 2006 when the mileage was circa 57,000 miles Freshly MOT'd and now ready for a lengthy British Summer
