JENSEN CV8 MK. II - £Auction
Originally registered in June 1965, this example has been owned by its sixth and current owner for 19 years, who acquired it from Jensen specialist Cropredy Bridge. The owner believes that the car is still in its original condition. This CV8 is adorned in the striking shade of Botticelli Blue, while its sophisticated interior boasts red leather seats, black carpets with red trim, a cream headliner, wood veneer accents on the dashboard, and a black upper dash pad. It is equipped with 15-inch body-coloured steel wheels featuring chrome trim rings and hub caps, fitted with General Grabber GT tyres on the rear and Pirelli P4000 tyres on the front.
The owner asserts that the car is in its original specification and is unaware of any alterations, although the 'Selectaride' suspension dial has been swapped out for a Jensen Motors plaque. The Botticelli Blue paint is in fair condition, having been repainted at some point in the car's history. Currently, there are various marks, blemishes, and signs of wear, including some cracking on the roof, bubbles on the bonnet and boot lid, paint chipping on the bonnet with a larger chip on the air intake, and imperfections around the rear window area. The boot lid and bonnet also seem to be a noticeably brighter colour compared to the rest of the paintwork. Inside, the cabin is also in fair condition and is thought to be original to the vehicle. Consequently, it exhibits a charming 'patina' of use, which includes wear and creasing on the seats. The seller mentions that the clock is not operational.
This example comes with a comprehensive history file, including the most recent MoT test certificate conducted on 23rd June 2023 at 63,918 miles, which it passed on the first attempt with no advisories. The latest service for this CV8 was performed in September 2021 by LGM Classics, which involved changing the engine oil and filter, as well as replacing the carburettor, spark plugs, leads, brake pads, pipes, flexible hoses, and handbrake pads. Before this, it was serviced in October 2018, where a reconditioned carburettor was installed, and in October 2017, it underwent an MoT test and had a new relay fitted. Additionally, in December 2016, it had another MoT test along with the replacement of the kingpin and a headlight. The car is provided with a variety of maintenance history documents from its current ownership, previous MoT test certificates, a wiring diagram, two sets of keys, and its current V5 registration document. This is a practical example that can be driven as is or enhanced over time.
