Series 2 The E-Type Series 2 was only manufactured during two years, from 1969 until 1971. US car safety laws were becoming more strict which forced Jaguar to re-engineer the car in 1970. The Series 2 was made as a two-seat coupé, a two-seat convertible and a 2+2 coupé. This second series of the E-Type was also provided with the well-known 4.2L in-line-six engine. The Series 2 brought new car gadgets: new indicator levers, comfy seats, AC and powered steering.
