This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, The Iconic Motorcycle Sale at the NEC Classic Motor Show 2025 on Sunday the 9th of November, NEC, Birmingham, B40 1NT. Available between 1985 and 1988, the XBR500 was Honda's answer to the popular Yamaha SR500, which also featured a large displacement single-cylinder engine A naked, 'Café Racer'-style sports bike, fitted with a removable seat hump (pillion cover) to give it a cleaner aesthetic  Powered by a 498cc, four-stroke, 44bhp single-cylinder featuring a radial 4-valve combustion chamber (RFVC) and a quasi-dry sump oil system Fitted with a nearly new pair of Avon Roadrider tyres and benefits from Hago rear shocks On offer from a private collection and was last MOT'd in 2022 but has not been used since From May next year, the bike can be re-registered as Historic and therefore qualify for free road tax and will be MOT-exempt An insurance 'write off - damaged but repairable' in the past (understood to be cosmetic damage but repair costs exceeded market value at the time). Since been repaired, inspected, and is now fully roadworthy  A clean and tidy example, the bike is descibed as running well when last used, but will require an MOT and light recommissioning prior to returning to the road
