HONDA CBR1000 - £10,000
This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, Online Auction - 31st July on Thursday the 31st of July. Background The eighth generation RR (SC57), the Honda CBR1000RR (Fireblade) was introduced in 2006 and featured the compact 998cc inline-four and race-inspired cassette-type 6-speed gearbox of the previous version introduced in 2004. Improved breathing, higher compression and revised cam timing raised the redline from 11,250 to 12,250rpm, with power climbing to 177bhp. The chassis was an updated version of the aluminium frame introduced in the first CBR1000RR, featuring revised rear suspension with altered geometry and a new lighter swingarm. Not only did this make for a stunning road bike, it provided the raw material for competition success. The Motorcycle This totally unused CBR1000RR has never been registered and it has never even been ridden. Indeed, that jewel of an engine has only ever been started while the machine was stationary. How so? The story is actually a simple one. The bike was delivered by Honda to 2007 World Superbike race team Alto Evolution but it was not immediately stripped to provide the basis for a racer, rather it was used by the team as a standing exhibit at trade shows and in hospitality areas. Between display appearances it was always kept in their warehouse and it has remained in pristine, unused condition ever since. As such, it might very well be the only remaining brand-new 2006 CBR1000RR on the planet. Seller: Private Location: Cheshire Photos: Vendor Supplied
