Introducing our 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback GT500 Shelby Replica.

Gone in 60 Seconds was an iconic film starring Nicholas Cage as was the emergence of Eleanor, the 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang driven in the film. Since then recreations of this famous car have appeared in limited numbers. This is completely a car for the true enthusiast, such as its current keeper, a long standing and valued customer of Stratton Motor Company.

The car started off as a 1967 Ford Mustang GT fastback and first sold in California, USA and where the full conversion to the Eleanor specification was carried out using all metal panels. It remained in California, an ideal hot and dry desert climate and was then sold and imported into the UK in 2009 where the new keeper spent 27000 rebuilding the 302 ci V8 and swapping the 3-speed auto for a 5-speed manual. The engine was then rebuilt again in 2013 by renowned Mustang Specialist Phil King which included a re-ground crankshaft, new Hypereutectic pistons and a mild performance camshaft.

The car came to Stratton Motor Company in 2016 where it was prepared and sold by us to its local current keeper who has cherished and maintained her regardless of cost, carrying out some more significant modifications which includes a full custom 3-inch stainless steel exhaust system fitted with four electrical valve cut-outs which are switchable through side pipes or quieter rear pipes, a great and well thought through addition.

The car also has the advantage of the full metal Eleanor body kit which gives it the edge of its composite counterparts and then painted in the correct Dupont Pepper Grey with Le Mans stripes. Of recent the car has had a new clutch and flywheel, a new Holley Carburettor, rebuilt rear axle and fitted with new black leather GSM Sports seats. Original seats are still available with the car.

The car has been in regular use and has been displayed and featured at many Classic Car Shows and draws complements wherever it goes and it is a privilege for us to have the opportunity to find a new home for this iconic and very special car, which of course comes complete with a comprehensive history file.
