This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, Supercar Fest Sale of Iconic and Classic Cars 2024 on Saturday the 18th of May, Sywell Aerodrome, Sywell, Northampton, NN6 0BN. Offered directly from 'The Well Timed' Collection. Offered here is a very special RS500, #128/500, first registered in the UK on the 17th September 2010 as one of 101 right-hand drive examples and believed to be one of just two RS500s fitted with the striking Red Nappa Leather front seats, from factory, from new. The history file is very impressive, containing a plethora of paperwork and documentation from the second it was ordered. It comes with its original book pack with a stamped service history up to 4,500 miles. It was ordered new by a private individual via Rufus Carr Ltd, Lancashire and within the file there is the New Vehicle Order Form dated 28th April 2010, the original Purchase Invoice dated 31st August 2010 for £36,700 including the £1,000 DVD SatNav option, the handover checklist dated 17th September 2010 and pre-delivery/delivery transportation documentation from the factory in Germany where they were built. Crucially, this includes the factory production document for the Nappa Red Recaro seats. Additionally, there are photos of the car upon collection, Ford documentation on how to clean and care for the 3M wrap, the Mountune Certificate and physical copies of every MOT from new. To say the first owner was a perfectionist doesn’t quite cover it. There is a plastic envelope including every fuel receipt (always Shell Super Unleaded) for the first six months of its life. From the Mountune document, we understand that on 18th March 2011 they fitted some performance parts including their Sports Exhaust and inlet plenum. These parts remain fitted to the car, but the first owner wisely kept all the original parts and they will be included in the sale. For safety and insurance purposes it has a Tracker system fitted with all the associated paperwork. This particular car, alongside its Sierra RS500 stablemate, featured as the main article and front/back cover stars of Fast Ford magazine, issue 302 March 2011 and a a copy is included. The car was bought new, then later sold to another private buyer, bought back by the original owner, then sold to our vendor, a personal friend, so it's actually three owners from new but reads as three previous keepers on the logbook. #128 was purchased by our vendor in 2014 at 6,000 miles and kept ever since, covering just 1,500 joyful miles in those ten years. Not liking the quality or aesthetics of the factory 'matte' wrap, our vendor set about removing it to reveal the Panther Black paintwork underneath, which he expected to be in showroom condition, but as all RS500s were wrapped, Ford clearly didn’t bother making the paintwork perfect. As a result, our vendor then spent over 24 working hours machine polishing the paintwork to bring it up to an incredibly high standard, before attaching their 'uncovered' title to the back of the car. This RS500 stands above the rest for all the right reasons and looks undeniably stunning in its gleaming Panther Black paintwork. An RS500 is a rare car at the best of times, however, to find an example in such incredible condition, let alone the fact that it has covered less than 8,000 miles and is virtually ‘out of the box’, is a brilliant opportunity for any modern classic collector, whether a ‘Blue Oval’ enthusiast or not, and is certainly not to be missed.
