FORD FIESTA 6TH GEN - £11,000

This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, Online Auction - 28th August on Thursday the 28th of August. Background: When the Ford Fiesta ST200 arrived in 2016, it marked the ultimate evolution of the already-acclaimed Mk7 Fiesta ST. Limited in production and sharpened by Ford Performance, it was conceived as a swansong for the model. Even with the Mk8 Fiesta ST now consigned to history, the ST200 still stands out as one of the most rewarding hot hatches of its generation. Introduced three years into the Mk7’s run, the ST200 squeezed more from the turbocharged 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine, lifting peak output from 197bhp to 212bhp on overboost in third and fourth gears. Torque jumped, too, from 214lb/ft to 236lb/ft. But the changes ran deeper than a simple power hike. Softer springs and dampers improved ride quality, while a 33 percent stiffer front anti-roll bar and torsion beam reduced body roll. These chassis tweaks proved so effective that Ford later carried them over to the standard ST. Visually, the ST200 was understated. Unique badging, 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and a signature grey paint finish were the only obvious giveaways. Inside, every optional extra was included as standard, giving the car both dynamic edge and day-to-day usability. On the road, the ST200 demonstrated just how well-judged the upgrades were. With 198bhp per tonne and a torque-rich powerband, it thrived on twisty tarmac, its incisive front end and supple damping combining to deliver fluid, confidence-inspiring handling. Balanced, quick and endlessly entertaining, the Fiesta ST200 remains one of the finest expressions of Ford Performance’s small-car magic. The Car: Delivered new in 2017 to its first owner, this example of Fords Fiesta ST200 has covered just 26,000 miles from that date. As a result it remains in a condition that could almost be described as showroom, with no marks on the exterior and no visible signs of wear on the high traffic areas of the interior. The car has been maintained by the previous owners at a local garage. However, due to it being a very traditional garage there are few records of the service work. The car was serviced at 25,500 miles and since has only done 500 odd miles, including new discs all around and full engine service using genuine OEM Ford parts. The description of the driving experience is ‘flawless’ with everything mechanical working as intended, with no knocks, rattles or any other wanted noises from either the engine, gearbox or running gear. The Mk7 Fiesta ST was one of the most coveted hot hatches of its day and remains a darling child of most automotive journalists. So being able to obtain an example with such low mileage, excellent condition and a limited run model is an opportunity not to be missed. Location: Troon Seller: Private Photography: Professional
