I have owned this car for 6 years, it is in good condition and a solid example of this model. The logbook shows 10 previous keepers. The gentleman that owned it between 2010 and 2017 carried out a full bare shell renovation, I have photos of the car on a rotary jig during that renovation, he started with the 1300XL automatic as it was then and kept the bodywork standard but upgraded the mechanics extensively. It now has a 1600 cross flow engine with a big valve cylinder head ported and polished with a BcF3 camshaft with vernier sprocket, a high-pressure high capacity oil pump and runs with an electric fuel pump and pressure regulator feeding twin Weber 40 DCOE carburettors, this drives a 5speed type 9 gearbox connected to a Burton 1 piece prop shaft which drives an RS2000 rear axle with standard differential and brake setup. The front suspension is adjustable Gaz coil overs, adjustable track control arms and quick steering rack, front brakes are M16 calipers on vented discs. Rear suspension is adjustable Spax dampers on single leaf springs on lowering blocks.
