FORD ESCORT MK. II RS2000 CUSTOM - £Auction
Originally registered on 21st September 1979, this RS2000 has been restored and presents well. The white coachwork is in good order and the dark brown cloth interior is unmarked. Any re-trimming of the seats appears to have been done to a very good standard and the 'tennis racket' headrests are retained. The 2.0 Pinto engine started immediately when requested and ran well, it is generally a very robust and reliable unit. The gearbox is a five-speed unit, presumably from a Sierra and operates smoothly and efficiently. A full length Webasto sunroof is fitted and the engine has a four-branch exhaust system. The suspension has been slightly lowered giving this Escort RS2000 Custom a sportier look. The history file contains invoices for its recent work. Supplied with a V5 registration document and a current MoT test certificate valid until 6th June 2026 (with no advisories). Highly sought-after by collectors, the Escort Mk. II RS2000 represents a golden era of Ford's motorsport-inspired road cars. The RS2000 became a favourite on the rally stage, where its durability and predictable handling made it a formidable competitor at national and international levels. Consigned by Stewart Banks
