The supplying dealer tax disc holder is still fitted to the front screen along with period correct number plates. The individual front seats are carefully shaped, firmly cushioned and finished in unmarked soft vinyl. The contoured padded dashboard is perfect with a full complement of accurate and vibrant working gauges. The chrome surround around the gauges is bright, the pedal rubbers are unworn and even the protective film to the Datsun badge on the glovebox remains! The door cards with the drivers door still featuring the tyre pressure sticker, headlining, rear parcel shelf and rubber floor covering with the brown fleck, are all pristine. The optional Datsun Clarion radio works and even the optional seat belt buckles have the Datsun stickers attached! The boot area is incredible with the correct rubber floor mat, leather pouch with the wheel brace still present and even the delicate OK sticker stuck to the inner boot lid attached. ENGINE & TRANSMISSION The matching numbers 998cc 4 cylinder engine sits sideways-on siting over the gearbox for space saving measures and easy access. Producing 53bhp, this willing O.H.V. engine is whisper quiet all the way to a top speed of 87mph and perfect operation is assured with a fully documented recommission. The presentation of the engine bay upholds absolute originality with labels, stickers, hoses and clips all in perfect factory condition. The inner wings have never been painted with perfect structural integrity showing minor patina to the thin paint. The colour code and anti-freeze stickers are still attached to the near-side inner wing and even the factory applied orange paint dabs to the strut-top nuts are visible! The gear change and the clutch are light and smooth having benefited from a recent new clutch. WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES The steel disc wheels are immaculate finished in the correct Dark Grey colour tone with unmarked plastic hub caps. Brand new Nankang 155/80 R12 tyres are fitted with the spare still wearing the factory original Dunlop Gold Seal 6.00-12 4PR tubeless tyre. The hydraulically operated brakes with discs to the front and drums to the rear operate perfectly having benefited from a full and major overhaul. HISTORY FILE A unique opportunity to own a rare, UK supplied Datsun 100A Cherry that has covered just 6,793 miles and only had two owners from new, the first until January 2024! Registered to Mrs Dupont, the car was supplied by Sycamores of Stamford on the 8th December 1976 and remained in her care for 48 years. Used sparingly for local shopping trips in and around the Wansford area until 1989 when it was parked up in her garage, never to see the light of day again until 2024. The reason, the clutch had burnt out and Mrs Dupont decided to retire from driving! The journey to put this untouched example back on the road was undertaken by KGF Classic Cars and was a joy with a vast documented spend neatly filed in a history binder. The aim was to preserve and keep everything as original as possible and this has absolutely been achieved. The cars first public appearance was at the 2025 Festival of the Unexceptional where it was chosen to be one of just 50 cars in the Concours de l’Ordinaire! All handbooks, the original service book, old tax discs, brochures and copious invoices are included. MOT May 2026, HPI Clear.
