1960 BENTLEY CONTINENTAL S2 JAMES YOUNG 4 DOOR - £95,000
Bentley S2 Continental by James Young. Television entrepreneur Sir Peter Cadbury was the first owner of this gentleman’s express. He took delivery of BC139AR in 1961. As was the way at the time, he had the car built to his specification with power steering, electric front windows, Whitewall tyres and a Webasto sunroof amongst other details. Apart from a change of exterior colour, from Silver/Black to Burgandy, the car remains very original. Further history of the car needs research, but for many years, the Bentley was owned by the President of the Danish RR Club before finding a home in Germany. Since back in England in 2016, the car has undergone some cosmetic refurbishment, with a new headlining and refitting the sunroof, repairs to the leather seats and door panels and the wood trim re-polished. Mechanically, as well as routine maintenance, the brakes have been rebuilt and reconditioned rear shock absorbers fitted. The Bentley Continental is a delight to drive and flows easily with modern traffic. To take the Continental to the next level, some attention to the paintwork would be advised. Also both electric windows have stopped working (fuse?). There are full construction and test records from RR and James Young plus a large history file from the last 20 years.
