Built on 14-15th April 1965 and despatched from Austin’s Abingdon factory on 22nd April 1965, this 3000 MkIII was delivered new to H.A. Saunders of Finchley, England and first registered on 5th May 1965 with options of overdrive, wire wheels, a heater, adjustable steering column and a tonneau cover. As a BJ8 ‘Phase II’ model this Healey features all mechanical refinements fitted to the late MkIII Healey including a 150BHP engine, increased ground clearance, wind up windows and a wrap-around windscreen, the desirable pram-style hood, De-Luxe interior and bigger front brakes. The car retains its original engine in complete condition, original gearbox, original rear axle and includes its factory original body, chassis and engine plates and as such is fully ‘matching-numbers’.
