1966 ASTON MARTIN DB6 MK1 - £249,995

This stunning Aston Martin DB6 MKI is a car with true provenance. Not only does it retain its original engine that was recently subject of major work by the world renowned experts RS Williams, the car retains its original colour combination of Silver Birch with Red leather trim. Further to this, the car was the demonstrator vehicle for King Street of Norwich based Aston Martin dealership Botwoods Limited when new. Built on the 3 February 1966, this RHD Home Market car came equipped with limited slip differential, heated rear screen, power aerial, and chrome wheels and comes with a British Motor Industry Heritage Certificate and Aston Martin build sheet. The car comes with an extensive history file and information to confirm that it had been in the hands of an Aston Martin enthusiast during the late 1980's and early 1990's before being purchased in 1992 by a Kensington, West London based Investment banker. From 1992 to 2006 the DB6 was subject of a thorough overhaul and excellent on going maintenance from a variety of Aston Martin experts to include RS Williams and often with Aston Martin main agents Lancaster. Throughout ownership the Aston was re-trimmed and fully re-painted, and in the fourteen years of ownership the DB6 covered 5000 miles. Between 2006 and coming into the hands of its most recent owner in 2021 the Aston covered very few miles and for this reason, the car was put into the capable hands of RS Williams for various re-commissioning. Almost £50,000 was spent between 2021 and 2023 and this included major work to include a top end engine rebuild and rebuilt carburettors. The engine was then dyno tested and all photos of the work are on a USB in the history file. The DB6 also had a new aluminium fuel tank, fuel pump, main fuel pipe, rear shock links, rebuilt front king pins, rear brake hoses, new exhaust brackets, repaired fuel gauge, new time clock, new window lifts, seat belt anchor bolts, period seat belts, new transient vibration damper, steering column bush, new hoses and various service items. As result by 2023 the DB6 was in exceptional mechanical order with the full confidence of being ‘gone through' by Richard Stewart Williams Ltd. The Aston now records 54,500 miles and back in 1992 ahead of its initial recommissioning the car had just 46000 miles recorded. It's a car that has been used sparingly but is very much a first class driving car. We road tested the car initially in Sussex and can report a super strong, fit and healthy original engine holding excellent oil pressure. The car keeps correct temperature, the five speed gearbox is exceptional with slick changes and the car handles beautifully. On the road the car is truly outstanding, the engine particularly impressive. Structurally the car is excellent with a first class underside and the bodywork is superbly straight with excellent panels and a gleaming Silver Birch paint finish. The odd minor imperfection remind you it's an older re-paint but the finish is without doubt of a high standard. The bumpers, chrome trims and rubbers are all excellent and the engine bay nicely presented. The chrome wires are perfectly acceptable but not perfect. The interior trim is stunning with excellent carpets, seating and headlining, the dashboard is exceptional with fabulous switch gear. OPD 219D offers excellent value, an ex demonstrator car in original colours with factory engine and recent works to ensure the car is in top class mechanical order, this really is something quite special and is ready to be used and enjoyed.
